Abandoned mine

· it was operated as a gravel mine in the past

· 1989 – the area was shared with 264 new owners (land for compensation)

· 2002 – local NGOs made public the owner continuously filled the region and the quarry pond with construction waste and other pollutants illegally

· sand mining operated without any permission as well

· the result of the environmental destruction: hundreds of protected eater’s and sand martin’s poet places destroyed

· 2008 – excavated debris from metro line 4 construction were brought here with permission

· originally there were 2 quarry ponds but the smaller one was totally filled with debris and the other pond’s size is getting smaller and smaller

· in spite of all these the left pond has 2 centimeters freshwater jellyfishes, which can only live in clear water…
